Academic Chat - The Geopolitics of Water in Africa

The geopolitics of water is a complex and critical issue. Water is not only a vital resource for survival but also a driver of economic development, regional cooperation, and at times, conflict.

How does access to water shape power and influence in Africa? Can shared resources become a bridge to cooperation rather than conflict?

In this episode, we explore these questions with our guest speaker, Professor Kidane Kiros, Professor of Global Affairs at FGSES.

Echoes of Identity – صدى الهوية

We are delighted to share Echoes of Identity – صدى الهوية , a powerful film that showcases the vibrant cultural heritage of Morocco and highlights the rich diversity of our graduating students at FGSES. As part of the 2025 graduation ceremony, students invited folkloric music groups from their home regions to celebrate with them on campus. The film captures a beautiful mosaic of Moroccan culture brought to life at the heart of our campus. Echoes of Identity is more than a celebration, it's a heartfelt tribute to the roots, stories, and shared pride that unite our students, and a reminder that diversity is one of FGSES’s greatest strengths.

The Journey – المشوار

As we celebrated the graduation of the 2024 and 2025 classes at the Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences (FGSES - Mohammed VI Polytechnic University), we proudly share “The Journey – المشوار”, a short film dedicated to the teachers and professors who supported our graduates from their early school years all the way to university. The film follows several graduates as they return to thank the people who guided and believed in them, from kindergarten to university. It’s a touching tribute to the important role educators play in every student's life. In the film, teachers and professors share their joy and pride in seeing their students succeed. Their words remind us how meaningful it is to teach, and how strong the bond between students and mentors can be. “The Journey – المشوار” is a message of gratitude — a way of saying thank you to those who help shape every step of the journey
