After a doctorate in applied mathematics at the University Littoral Opal Coast (Dunkirk, France) and at the University Cadi Ayyad (Marrakech), Yassine Kaouane joined the Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences in 2019 as a postdoctoral researcher and was promoted to Research Fellow in 2021.
His expertise spans several key disciplines, including Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, and Decision Theory, all of which he teaches with a focus on integrating practical, data-driven insights with theoretical rigor.
Dr. Kaouane’s research primarily revolves around the «Future Risks & Economic Behavior» program, one of the flagship initiatives of the Africa Institute for Research in Economics and Social Sciences (AIRESS). His work delves into the intricate relationships between risk, economic decision-making, and behavioral responses under uncertainty. An expert in the design and econometric analysis of behavioral experiments, he investigates how individuals navigate uncertainty in decision-making processes. His ongoing projects aim to deepen the understanding of Beliefs, Trust, Inequality, and the Perception of Uncertainty, with particular attention to their implications for economic behavior and policy development.
