Professor Cristina Ana Alves will lead the upcoming AIRESS Workshop titled ''The 2025 CA/AC Early Career Scholars' Workshop''. The event will take place at the UM6P Rabat Campus on Thursday, January 9th and Friday, January 10th.
The 2025 China-Africa/Africa-China (CA/AC) Early Career Scholars’ Workshop in Rabat is a collaborative initiative between the CA/AC network and FGSES/AIRESS at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P). This year’s edition features 14
early career scholars selected by the workshop committee, originating from Africa, China, and Europe. The workshop aims to provide mentorship for junior researchers and cultivate a supportive academic community in the field of ChinaAfrica studies. The primary objective of the workshop is to establish a nurturing environment that integrates mentorship, peer collaboration, career guidance, and networking opportunities. By convening early career and senior scholars, the event
endeavours to foster meaningful connections that extend beyond the workshop, facilitating collaborative efforts and shared academic growth. This sense of community is essential for navigating the complexities inherent to China-Africa studies and collectively advancing the discipline. The workshop is structured over two days and features a blend of paper feedback sessions and career development
panels.
