Professor Emmanuel Kemel will lead the upcoming AIRESS workshop on Practical Issues in Bayesian Modelling on Thursday, December 19th. This one-day workshop will delve into the power and versatility of Bayesian modeling, focusing on its methods for understanding complex behavioral models.
The morning session will illustrate the practical applications of Bayesian methods through in-depth presentations. Topics include hierarchical modeling, discrete choice analysis, and innovative approaches like variational Bayesian inference, highlighting the wide-ranging utility of Bayesian techniques.
The afternoon session will adopt a roundtable-style format to encourage interactive exchanges on technical aspects. Discussions will address technical issues such as convergence monitoring, correlation assessment, prior sensitivity, computation, or coding optimization.
The goal of this workshop is to foster the exchange of good practices and to help researchers gain insights into both the opportunities and the technical challenges of Bayesian modeling.
