Clotilde Nouët is an Assistant Professor at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University.

A former student of the École Normale Supérieure de la rue d’Ulm, « agrégée » in philosophy, she obtained her PhD from the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. She was also a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Lyon 3 before joining UM6P.

Her area of expertise is modern and contemporary social and political theory, especially Marx, the Frankfurt School, Hannah Arendt, Habermas and Rawls. Her research focuses on the concept of democracy.

She also has a strong interest in feminist philosophy and gender studies.

She is a co-editor of the « Chronique bibliographique de théorie politique » for the Revue française de science politique (Presses de Sciences Po).

She has published various articles in Philosophiques, Cités, Archives de philosophie, and edited a journal issue on freedom of speech for the Revue de Métaphysique et de Morale.

She has recently edited and published a selection of texts by Habermas on democracy, including a critical apparatus and an interview with Habermas himself (L’Avenir de la démocratie, Bouquins, 2024).
