 Abdelaziz Chaoubi is an Affiliate Professor at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University.

He was an Assistant Professor at the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) of Casablanca (1982-1986), then a professor at the National Institute of Statistics and Applied Economics (INSAE) (September 1986 to September 2021). From 1992 to 1994, he was a teaching assistant in statistics at Laval University in Quebec, where he got his Ph.D. in statistics. He was Acting Director of INSEA during 2012-2013, Deputy Director for Programs and Research of INSEA from 2013-2017, and Director of the Center for Doctoral Studies during 2015-2016. He was also Head of the Department of Statistics, Demography, and Actuarial-Finance at INSAE. In addition, he is a consultant to LMS-CSA (a Moroccan market research and survey company).

His research interests focus on the statistical analysis of lifetimes, statistical modeling, Multivariate statistical analysis, statistical analysis of poverty and inequality.
