He was an Assistant Professor at the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) of Casablanca (1982-1986), then a full professor at the National Institute of Statistics and Applied Economics (INSAE) (September 1986 to September 2021). From 1992 to 1994, he was a teaching assistant in statistics at Laval University in Quebec, where he got his Ph.D. in statistics. He was Acting Director of INSEA during 2012-2013, Deputy Director for Programs and Research of INSEA from 2013-2017, and Director of the Center for Doctoral Studies during 2015-2016. He was also Head of the Department of Statistics, Demography, and Actuarial-Finance at INSAE. In addition, he was consultant to LMS- CSA (a Moroccan market research and survey company).
His research interests focus on the statistical analysis of lifetimes, statistical modeling, Multivariate statistical analysis, statistical analysis of poverty and inequality.
His research work is published in the international journals: Journal of Nonparametric Statistics and Development Economics Review.
