Mohammed Abdellaoui is an Affiliate Professor at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University.

He is Directeur de Recherche (Research Director) at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) in France and has been a Professor of Decision Sciences at HEC Paris since 2007. He also serves as the coordinator of the «Future Risks & Behavior» research program at the Africa Institute for Research in Economics and Social Sciences (AIRESS) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University.

His research explores individual and organizational decision-making under conditions of uncertainty and time, using a multidisciplinary approach. At the descriptive, normative, and prescriptive levels, his work spans observed behavior (in both experimental and real- world contexts), decision models -extending beyond the standard models of rationality- and decision-aiding systems (Decision Analysis).

Professor Abdellaoui’s research has been published in top-tier journals across Economics, Management Sciences, and Psychology, such as the American Economic Review, Econometrica, Management Science, Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Econometrics, Games and Economic Behavior, Economic Theory, Operations Research, Journal of Risk and Uncertainty, and Theory and Decision. He has served as President of the Association Française d’Économie Expérimentale (ASFEE) and co-founded RISLab (Risk, Insurance, and Savings Laboratory) at Ghent University, an international research network focusing on behavioral economics. Currently, he is the Editor-in-Chief of Theory and Decision, a leading journal that promotes interdisciplinary advances in Decision Sciences.
