[email protected] Téléchager le CVMoritz Schmoll is an Assistant Professor at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University.
He obtained his MSc in Comparative Politics from Sciences Po Paris and his PhD in Political Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
Prior to joining UM6P, he was an LSE Fellow at the Department of International Development, LSE, and an Associate Doctoral Researcher at the Centre d’Études et de Documentation Économiques, Juridiques et Sociales (CEDEJ) in Cairo. Dr Schmoll also worked on economic reform in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) for the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris. His doctoral dissertation focused on the reasons for weak enforcement of tax laws in Egypt.
His broader research interests include the politics of everyday governance, public administrations in developing countries, the political economy of development, and violence and conflict, with a particular regional focus on the MENA region. His work has been published in the Journal of Conflict Resolution, the Journal of Development Studies, and Studies in Comparative International Development.
